The Wizard of Apps
This video is a copy cat of the Wizard of Oz. It uses a girl imitating the character of Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and she looking for various computer applications. She first makes a stop looking for digital citizenship applications. Here she finds all types of apps where you can find information about different people. She then goes on to find applications that protect copyright material, and she finds some applications that help you put together works cited pages, like BibMe. Then she found some applications that help you search the web. She finds apps that help you gather more information, thus increasing your information fluency. She then talks about creativity and innovation, she even shows voicethread. Voicethread is an app that I am familiar with now because of this class. The next thing she found was collaboration and communication. She finds sites like diigo in this part.
I have used some of these applications before, and visited some of the apps I was not familiar with. I visited the BibMe site and liked it. I will utilize it to help me with writing papers.

Paula "Wiki White"
The video talks about a lady named Paula White. She uses wikis in her elementary classroom. There are not many people incorporationg wikis in their classrooms and she is wanting more people to start using them. She thinks that it will motivate students to want to learn and be more engaged in the classroom. She used wikis in her fifth grade classroom to engage her students. She helped her students create web pages on wikis. She thinks that wikis help motivate her students to learn and they are interested in completing them outside of school as well.

Sam the Technology Wiz
The video is about a girl named Sam. She is 15 years old, although she is helping students that are in college. She helps them when they are having trouble with computer problems while using graphics. She utilizes technology in her life. She uses her I-Pod and also uses a video camera to record things. She is interested in the game, World of Warcraft.
I think to some extent this video showcased a girl using technology to her advantage and to the advantage of others. Using computer technology to solve problems and using her I-phone is all very helpful. But i disagree with spending countless hours playing a computer game that has no educational purpose. I think that time could be spent doing something more productive.

Orientation Using Second Life
Second Life is a video game where you create avatars to communicate with other people. This is being used to do orientations for businesses, and also some schools are using them as well. I think that this could take away from the person to person contact. I feel that people should be talking to each other one on one instead of using a computer system to represent themselves. The Digital World
I watched a video about teenagers creating videos. These teenagers are using videos that they create to share information on certain topics such as the importance of not texting while driving. This is a great way for teenagers to get the word out about issues that pertain to them, and to share these issues with their peers. The information that was shared in these videos was interesting and relevant to todays student and teenager. I think this is a great tool to use in a classroom setting because students will learn from their peers. The video can be viewed here:

Project Learning
This video is about project learning. Project learning is a type of learning that focuses on one particular subject. Students pick a subject and they use the semester or the yeear to work on the subject. The students could use computers and technology for their research or to make videos and different things like that. I think that this type of learning could be utilized in a classroom. I do think, however, that it might be better utilized in older students. I also think that a downfall of this type of learning would be that it only focuses on one particular subject or topic being taught. Students might not learn all aspects of say science, or language arts, by only studying one topic. I also think it could be a problem when schools do not have the resources to fund this type of learning. Here is the video for you to view:

Luis: Using Technology as a Life Tool
Technology is rapidly spreading throughout the world. It is evident from day to day how much people use and depend on technology. I watched a video from Edutopia about an 18 year old boy named Luis. Luis is using technology in his every day life, and helping others in the process. Luis is from a family that speaks very little English. He uses technology to help his family bridge the language barrier while performing daily tasks, such as paying bills. He also uses technology to help in his school and community. It is great to see Luis using technology to benefit himself and to make other people's lives easier. This video can be viewed at this website.
This video has impacted me by seeing Luis be so involved in his community. It is refreshing to see a young man doing something to help others. You see some youth using technology by playing video games, or other things that just benefit themselves. I really enjoyed seeing someone using it to benefit others.

Incorporating Technology into the Classroom
This video showed how far teachers and students have come using technology. The teacher in this video used online activities and videos to teach the class. She was able to teach using technology throughout the day. I am so impressed with this video because the children were engaged and learning throughout. Some of these students are more technologically advanced than adults! I learned that technology can enhance a students' learning experience, no matter how young. This video is available to view at http://k12online.ning.com/profile/RachelBoyd
This classroom was very different from the classes I grew up in. We did not have near the amount of technology, nor was it incorporated into our daily routines. It is amazing how far we have come in education in such a short time! I would like to say I will have this type of learning as a resource available to me when I become a teacher.

Naifiza: Technology Teen
This video is about a teenage High School Senior. Her name is Naifiza. She is part of a technology group at her High School. It shows how she uses technology as a major part in her life; from computers, to cell phones, to I-pods. She uses technology to create software, which in turn aids other students in learning. Naifiza has incorporated the latest technology into her own education as well. This video shows us how far students have come with technology and how willing they are to learn.

The Technology Whiz Kid
In this video about a young boy who is very technologically advanced, Cameron showcases his skills. He is nine years old and is interested in technology. He learns at a rapid pace, and very often is teaching others as he learns something new. Sometimes he even needs to teach a certain subject to his teachers, or inform them of a new skill he has learned. What I took away from this video is the fact that this generation of young children are learning at a rapid pace. They are eager and ready to learn all about this world, and are well equipped to do so. In the case of Cameron teaching his teachers different technological skills, I believe that many children are well versed to teach skills to adults. I think we need to have an open mind to learn from our students as well as us teaching them. In my own experience, I have found many times that children I interact with are teaching me something. I am not the best with technology and often will need to ask for help with certain things. I have many times asked for help from someone younger than me. We can always learn from children.
